Well, its time to bid adieu to those Doctor Who binge sessions that have brought so many new fans into the fold. Early this morning Doctor Who ended its run on both Netflix and Hulu, eliminating affordable ways to rewatch Doctor Who in America through legal means. However, discussion is underway on our facebook page on ways to have viewing parties and maybe even a DVD sharing service through Boston Whovians. Weigh in here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/bostonwhovians/
Saturday June 6th is our yearly picnic on the Boston Common, one of the best meetups we have all year! It’s always a great time and we have some great stuff planned, including a friendly game of trivia and possibly a raffle! But the thing about a picnic is that it’s not a picnic if there’s no FOOD! So sign up to bring some food, beverage, or utensils!
The times and locations of the two photoshoots we’re hosting at Anime Boston this year have been announced! The Doctor Who shoot is on Friday at 4:15pm and the BBC shoot is on Saturday at 1:00pm. Go to the events page to find out more and RSVP on Facebook. See you there!
I am thrilled to announce our very first Watch Club selection, Spearhead from Space! Check it out on the Watch Club page to find links for more information about the serial and links to watch it legally. Discussion will begin in one week here on the website. In the meantime, feel free to make suggestions for what we should watch in the future! You’ll have to create an account (super quick, just pick a username and enter your email address and you’ll get a temporary password in an email right away) to post.
As you can see, we’ve recently overhauled the website and it will give us a lot more functionality. Check out the new photo and video galleries! The store will be up soon, with T-shirts and other merch for sale. And stay tuned for the start of our weekly watch club, where we’ll be watching episodes of both Classic and New Who and discussing them here on the website!
